NOCTURNALISM

MAY 2021

12 TRACKS 62 MIN

Nocturnalism is my seventh original album of instrumental music. Largely beatless and abstract, it builds on the abstract atmospheres and textural explorations of 2019‘s Entropy, but as its title implies, it turns up the darkness.

Whether in the restless shapeshifting of “Polylocation,” the tense minimalism of “Urban Rothko,” or the frenetic automatic writing that underpins its most active track, “Broken Motorway,” Nocturnalism aims to evoke the mystique of late night urban exploration and quietude. Its layered arrangements feature a combination of field recordings, synthesis, effects, and sampled sounds.
